Prompt Sanitization Module
Our Prompt Sanitization Module is part of the Security & Trust layer. It’s designed to ensure that all user inputs are automatically reviewed, cleansed, and transformed before reaching any large language model (LLM), preventing sensitive, malicious, or non-compliant content from being processed.
How the Prompt Sanitization Module Operates:
Inspect the input: It scans prompts for sensitive data (e.g., PII, financial information, trade secrets) and risky content (e.g., prompt injections, jailbreak attempts).
Apply filtering rules: It uses configurable policies for redaction, masking, or transformation to meet compliance requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, or internal governance standards.
Neutralize threats: It detects and strips out malicious instructions, obfuscated attacks, or unintended cross-system commands.
Reformat for safety: It reformulates the prompt to maintain user intent while eliminating unsafe, irrelevant, or non-permitted elements.
Log & trace: Every sanitization action is logged with metadata—changes made, rules applied, and risk scores—providing a transparent audit trail.
Why This Matters:
Data protection: Prevents accidental or unauthorized exposure of sensitive information to external systems.
Regulatory compliance: Enforces legal and industry-specific data handling requirements at the input stage.
Security hardening: Reduces the risk of prompt injection, model exploitation, or cross-workflow contamination.
Consistency & trust: Ensures all inputs are clean, safe, and ready for optimal LLM performance.
